I played this game with my friend. :D

I was running a game on Linux using Wine.

Some random thoughts:

  • If you connect a gamepad, you can control the first player with it, but not the second one. Connecting another controller results in both gamepads controlling the first vehicle. I guess that’s a consequence of the fact that gamepads are not properly supported by the game. It was just a lucky accident that it worked for one of the gamepads, I guess. A gamepad+keyboard pair worked well enough, so I can’t complain. :)

  • I had difficulties trying to run this game in a full screen mode. It also runs in a window that is smaller than the scene size.

  • Am I right that if there would be no cliff, it would be possible to score a lap without going through the track? :D Or have you implemented any checkpoints? I like the cliff solution though! It’s inventive enough for me. It’s harder to pull this trick in a 2D racing game though.

  • I enjoyed the driving controls. They’re simple, but not primitive! It’s enjoyable. I’m not a fan of the racing game genre, but this game was fun.

  • The local multiplayer games are my old time favorites! :3 Thank you for creating something like that! Split screens, hot seats, etc. rock!

  • The graphics are quite good too. And you know what? I had 0 performance issues. It’s usually a rare occasion to run a 3D game in Wine on my potato computer and expect a good frame rate. I had somewhat stable FPS all the time.

  • Godot > Unity; period (at least for me). :D

  • And since you’re using Godot, I can say that it’s relatively easy to build a native executable for Linux. You could help your players to avoid using Wine too much (such a good joke from me, ahahah). :)

Thanks for the feedback and thanks for playing. I didn’t get around to adding controller support, as I only had a month to work on the game + I had school work and stuff to work on.
